Indicator Rating Scale Legend

Below are descriptions of the rating scale options in the Self Assessment Tool. When rating the indicator statements, you can also click on the question mark to the right of the rating scale for a shorter version of this legend.

No = Nothing is in place. Maybe someone has thought about the need or a few people have talked about it, but there is nothing concrete. You may also choose 'No' if you have a system/policy/practice in place, but it does not meet your needs/is not effective.

In Progress = There is something in the process of development, but it is not complete. It is recognized as an issue, the organization has started to work on it, there have been meetings about it and/or there is something in writing such as a draft document. Or, a system/policy/practice/approach is in place, but it is outdated, not used widely, and/or missing some key piece.

Yes = A system/policy/practice/approach is in place and it meets the organization's current needs. It is generally satisfactory, effective, and complete.

Innovative = A system/policy/practice/approach is in place, meets the organization's needs, and is also innovative. The organization excels and is extraordinary at this.
